Reclaimed Hemlock Joist Shelves/Corbels

Mar 15, 2013

Here’s some simple reclaimed barn wood shelves we made/installed in the living room of a home in Gilbert, AZ. We took old hemlock floor joists from the Porter Barn Wood lot and jointed one edge smooth to fit against the wall. Then we made corbels from the extra material we cut off and bored some holes for the anchors. This makes for a very easy install. The finish is a light coat of paste wax to keep it looking natural. They are approx. 3″ thick, 7.5″ deep and 60″ wide.
