Industry Secret Patinas and Paints

Thomas Porter will be conducting a hands-on pro-patina class covering the following topics:

• Rocket Fast Rusty Patinas – Including textural rusty patterns
• Distressing / Blackening
• Antique Copper from Steel
• Artistic Distressed Paint Jobs
• Matte Clear Coat Finishes for Multiple Material Types

There will be a 20″x30″ galvanized steel canvas (plywood backed) provided for a freestyle art project that you will take home. This metal canvas will be used by you at the end of the training to create your own masterpiece. We’ll have clear coat HVLP system standing by afterwards to seal the piece so you can take it home same day. 

Cost is $150 per person and only 5 spots are available. Must be 12 years or older to participate.

WHAT: Professional Patinas and Art Class with focus on Distressed and Artful Finishes as well as intro to HVLP Clear Coats for multi-material applications

*All PPE (Safety Equipment) and materials necessary will be provided including masks, nitrile gloves, etc. Pants and long sleeve shirt recommended. Dress prepared to get paint on your clothes. We will be using chemicals which may be harmful to jewelry or electronic devices. We will be operating in open air in a well ventilated space, however, people who are extra sensitive to smells or have respiratory problems are not encouraged to participate. This is a class designed for people who have a desire to learn industry trade secret patinas meant for furniture and art creation.
