He wanted a strong quartet like the ones his dad used to sing with. Over the next few months\, Terry Baucom\, Jimmy Haley\, Lou Reid\, and Doyle laid the foundation for what has become the Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver sound. The makeup of the band has changed many times in the last 27 years. They jokingly tell folks that Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver is the “farm team” for bluegrass. Visit Doyle Lawson’s Site\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Special Consensus\n Special Consensus’ sound is grounded in a deep appreciation and understanding of bluegrass music; the infectious band sound reminds people of the past while utilizing the innovations of today.  With the foundation of Greg’s unique banjo playing style\, Rick Faris (guitar)\, Nick Dumas (mandolin)\, and Dan Eubanks (bass) effortlessly support each other and consistently maintain their bluegrass center whether they’re playing a jazz-tinged instrumental or a song from their award-winning John Denver tribute album. These four talented vocalists and instrumentalists follow their creative desires without straying too far from their roots. Visit Special Consensus’ Site\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Kenny & Amanda Smith Band\n Kenny & Amanda Smith create an intensely personal connection and the band shares an all-too-rare sense of cohesion where each musician feels an almost telepathic connection. Musicians call it being in the groove\, where the group collectively accents each beat in precisely the same way. With Kenny leading the way on guitar\, this band never has trouble finding the groove. Visit Kenny & Amanda Smith’s Site\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n High Fidelity\n High Fidelity formed in early 2014\, and they received their first achievement in February 2014 when they took first place in the International Band Championship at the 40th Annual Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Awards. Their brand new debut record\, which was recorded live and in one room with minimal isolation\, has been critically acclaimed. Visit High Fidelity’s Site\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n old blue band\n “OLD BLUE”” is a bluegrass band that is committed to playing bluegrass music the old fashioned way. The band is dedicated to the preservation of the music from the founders such as Bill Monroe\, The Stanley Brothers\, and Flatt and Scruggs. They leave the future development of this music to a new generation\, as they are more than capable of the task to present bluegrass music the way it was started back in the early days. The band members are recognized as some of the best in the business from the western part of the United States. They want the fans to experience the enjoyment of hearing the music the way it used to be\, and still is…played by “OLD BLUE”. Old Blue Band Website (click here)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Rusted Spurs West\n Rusted Spurs West is Arizona’s cowboy/western swing trio that plays tunes from the golden age of western music as well as some contemporary songwriters as well. Songs of The Sons of the Pioneers\, Gene Autry\, Bob Wills\, and Spade Cooley. Songwriters such as Cindy Walker\, Laurie Lewis\, and Townes Van Zandt are featured in our songs as well. Rusted Spurs West features outstanding vocals with harmonies and occasional squeezebox leads!\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jam Pak Neighborhood Blues & Grass Band\n In 1994\, Anni Beach while serving as a substitute teacher in Chandler\, Arizona\, took her mandolin and a new-found passion for bluegrass music to every classroom in which she taught. Teaching at Galveston Elementary a block from her home\, two little boys knocked on her door asking if she would play and sing some more. Anni wanted to do something good in her neighborhood\, and with the support of her husband Vincent. Jam Pak was born the very next week with six little kids in the front yard. The group has grown ever since. Visit Jam Pak’s Site\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n All Yo-Yo Team\n Julius is one of the most caring and dedicated yoyoers in the world\, and is considered by many to be the greatest yoyo teacher in the world. After seeing how amazing kids get after only a little  time with Julius\, we bet you’ll agree. The All Yo-Yo team is always a crowd favorite! His love for wood has helped him develop working relationships with people all over the world\, including former President Jimmy Carter. Here is a snippet from Russ’s website: \nI built my first rocking chair in 1982. Ever since\, I have steadily worked to improve my design\, joinery and finishing skills. Today\, I’m proud to make heirloom-quality chairs that will last for generations.  \n\nFor me\, chair making is the most satisfying form of furniture making\,  not just because chairs are quite challenging to make but because I get to use and enjoy them every day. \nI totally enjoy sharing what I know about making chairs and chair making tools. I teach these skills in “My Shop” and I donate chairs to the Carter Center and Good Samaritan Boys Ranch near Springfield\, Missouri fund raising auctions each year. I could not ask for a better way to help others and share what I do. \nI admire the Japanese woodworker’s skills\, precision and sense of tradition. I strive to apply these traits to the chairs that I make. Even though I take some liberty with design\, I am committed to preserving the skills and traditions of the Appalachian Ladder Back and Colonial Windsor chair makers. \n\n

And\, for nearly 40 years\, he helped move many a happy Disney theme park guest aboard vehicles and ride conveyances of his own design. As he’s often quipped\, “If it moves on wheels at Disneyland\, I probably designed it.” \nAnd he certainly has. Bob has developed more than 100 designs for attractions ranging from Autopia and Matterhorn Bobsleds to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Monorails\, and more. \nBorn in Los Angeles on October 25\, 1931\, young Bob was fascinated with tools\, mechanical devices\, and cars. He often crawled through a hole in the fence of nearby Grand Central Air Terminal in Glendale to sneak into the cockpits of idle transport airplanes\, while at school he decorated his test papers with sketches of automobiles. \nLater\, he attended Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles on a General Motors scholarship\, where he studied industrial design. Upon graduation in 1952\, he was hired by Ford Motor Company\, but soon purchased a rubber stamp marked “R.H. Gurr Industrial Design” and went into business for himself. \nSoon after\, WED Enterprises\, today known as Walt Disney Imagineering\, hired Bob to consult on the design of miniature cars for Autopia. Walt Disney was so impressed with Bob’s knowledge and skill that he invited him to join the Imagineering family\, which then was solely dedicated to the design and construction of Disneyland. \nOver the next nearly four decades\, Bob worked transportation magic developing the memorable Flying Saucers attraction in Tomorrowland\, the antique cars and double-decker buses of Main Street\, U.S.A.\, Ford Motor Company’s Magic Skyway\, which premiered at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair\, and more. Bob also helped design the mechanical workings of Disney’s first Audio-Animatronics® human figure\, Abraham Lincoln\, featured in Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. \nIn 1981\, Bob retired early from Imagineering to launch GurrDesign\, Inc.\, and\, three years later\, joined creative forces with two former Imagineers to form Sequoia Creative\, Inc. The firm\, which specialized in “leisure-time spectaculars” and “fantastical beasts” developed King Kong and Conan’s Serpent for Universal Studios\, Hollywood. \n \n \n \n \n \n bobgurr \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n WATCH THIS MINI DOCUMENTARY ON BOB GURR…\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Among his other mechanical feats\, Bob was instrumental in creating the mysterious UFO that soared over the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games. He also consulted on the animated T-Rex figure featured in Steven Spielberg’s motion picture Jurassic Park.

This quintet has over 180 years of experience performing in the Bluegrass genre. 2016 is the breakout year for this configuration. All of the members have played together in different bands as well as the Original Bluegrass Cardinals or Continental Divide. As the name suggests\, this band is bringing back the songs and sounds of The Bluegrass Cardinals. The Cardinals were at the top of the Bluegrass heap from 1976 to 1991. They will be bringing back the smooth three and four part harmonies the Cardinals were renowned for. They are also creating new recordings featuring great old Bluegrass Cardinal classics and new songs that fit perfectly with the originals. \nDavid Parmley & Cardinal Tradition \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n old blue band\n “OLD BLUE”” is a bluegrass band that is committed to playing bluegrass music the old fashioned way. They leave the future development of this music to a new generation\, as they are more than capable of the task to present bluegrass music the way it was started back in the early days. The band members are recognized as some of the best in the business from the western part of the United States. Bonding over the new journey of motherhood was the first commonality as Arnold had recently given birth to her first child\, Baylor and Holt was pregnant with her first. Shortly after meeting\, the two founders realized that they had more in common as they discovered their shared love of vintage treasures. \nWhile adventuring through the Canadian Rockies in Alberta\, Canada\, they began discussing their frustration over a lack of community and places to shop for vintage items in the greater Phoenix area. They joked about starting their own event so they could shop themselves. Their husbands didn’t laugh. They immediately saw a good business idea and encouraged their wives to pursue it. The first market was held in a friend’s backyard and they welcomed 23 vendors along with their own items that they had been saving for the event. The backyard market was a success with over 600 people showing up. There were cars parked along streets for several blocks in the neighborhood! \nThe founders knew they were on to something and began planning their next events and selected a venue\, Westworld of Scottsdale\, which would allow the market to grow for years to come. In 2015\, they welcomed over 35\,000 shoppers to their events. Growth and expansion continued in 2015 with an expanded 3-day Arizona market and the first out of state event in 2016 in San Diego\, CA. Both Holt and Arnold are thrilled to announce several exciting new projects in the coming months as they continue to share their love for all things chippy\, rusty\, vintage and handmade. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Where: Westworld of Scottsdale \nWhen: Sept. 14-16th (See JITT Website for Specific Times and Tickets) \nTickets: Click Here for Ticket Information… \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Years Established\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Vendors\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n “This is a great place to spend your weekend at!
